Swirled Sugar Cookies

These rolled and cut sugar cookies are just plain fun to make. The swirled dough comes together easily and turns every cookie into a little surprise, while still giving you that classic soft, buttery sugar cookie flavor. They roll out smoothly, cut cleanly, and bake up just the way you want them to. The best part? They are gluten free, dairy free, egg free, nut free, and soy free.

They’re especially great for Valentine’s Day, when playing with pinks and reds makes baking feel extra festive. Whether you’re baking with kids, making something cheerful for friends, or just want a cookie recipe that’s a little more playful than usual, these swirled sugar cookies are such a good time from start to finish.

I used Watkin’s natural food coloring. Supernatural Kitchen also has good natural food dye. For a more bold color, I suggest using a gel food coloring.
