If you’re looking for an allergy-free chocolate sheet cake that actually tastes amazing, you’re in the right place. This easy chocolate cake is gluten free, dairy-free, egg-free, and nut-free, yet still rich, moist, and deeply chocolatey. It’s the kind of crowd-pleasing dessert that works for birthday parties, school events, potlucks, or anytime you need a safe treat everyone can enjoy. Simple ingredients, one pan, and zero compromise on flavor—this is the chocolate sheet cake you’ll make again and again.
You do NOT have to use coffee in the cake or frosting- I often use dairy free milk instead (I like using dairy free milk in the frosting.) I like the depth the coffee brings to the chocolate flavor but it’s optional.
Another tip is to mix the cake batter with everything except the vinegar and whisk the vinegar in just before pouring it in the pan. It really helps the cake rise well.
I topped the frosting with crushed cookies (gluten free Oreos) before it set. This is the cake everyone loves and no one knows it allergy free!
