If you’re anything like me, you can’t resist a chewy caramel—soft, sweet, and just a little salty on top. These apple cider caramels are all of that and more. They’re made without dairy, eggs, nuts, or gluten, but you’d never know it. The secret is cooking down fresh apple cider until it’s rich and tangy, then turning it into the most melt-in-your-mouth treat. A sprinkle of flaked sea salt on top makes them totally irresistible. Best part? They’re surprisingly easy to make, and they feel like the coziest little bite of fall in candy form.
I’ll link below the brands I used for the cream but you can sub with your favorite!
I have searched high and low for a vegan heavy whipping cream that doesn’t have coconut in it- but haven’t found one yet. If anyone knows of one please let me know and I will share! If you want to make these caramels and cannot do coconut I would suggest using a non dairy type half and half that you can use. I will test this soon but haven’t yet!
This is the brand I used. It’s easy to find at Walmart and Kroger. It isn’t the “cleanest” ingredients but it works so well.
